The Beginning

The assignment for this University project was to create and film a stop-motion clip on the theme of “Mindset”. I decided to sculpt a doll out of polymer clay and animate her using a simple wire skeleton. I set up a scene using houseplants and other props and captured 188 individual frames, which I edited into a clip using Adobe After Effects. The mood and the doll are inspired by the movie "Coraline".
My learning experiences focused on movement, cinematography, and atmosphere. My first experience with claymation was very educational and sparked my interest, as I am very passionate about animation (movement and its processes) as well as character design and modeling.
